Press Release - 2012-10-02 - Futurity Launches Orion 1.2

Mechanicsburg, PA – October 2, 2012 – Futurity IT, an information technology company in the emergency management vertical, released a major update to their industry-leading Orion software system today.  The update comes on the heels of customer feedback which positions Orion as the clear industry leader in mobile damage assessment.

“You know, our customers are our lifeblood, and when they come to us and tell us additional ways we can make their lives easier, we listen and we respond”, said Rob Richard, Futurity’s CEO.  “These guys met the challenges of Tropical Storm Lee, Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Debby, and Hurricane Isaac – all within 12 months.  They know what they need, and when they ask us for enhancements that make our system even better, we’re there to deliver”, Richard added.

Orion runs on Android and Apple iOS devices, and allows local emergency managers to take advantage of ubiquitous mobile technology to efficiently and accurately collect and report damage assessment information following a disaster.  “This system is battle-tested and has saved our clients hundreds of man-hours in collecting and reporting damage data to their states and to FEMA.  Nothing compares with what we can do for counties and larger cities when it comes to crunch time during a disaster.  We actually free them up to manage the response, rather than swim in paperwork”, concluded Richard in a short interview.
